Today, Adalah submitted a pre-petition to the Attorney General and the Director of the Israel Prisons Service (IPS) demanding that the Palestinian detainees and political prisoners from the Gaza Strip be allowed the use of telephones in order to check on their families and loved ones in the wake of continuous Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. During the fighting in Gaza and in southern Israel, Israeli human rights groups worked together to inform the Israeli public of the impact on civilians, particularly regarding events that were not reported by the media.
